I selected this set based on the amount of items, variety of wax and completeness of the kit. I prefer appliances in neutral colors — too many warmers are pink; I like that this one is black with some silver.If you are looking for a good entry point to begin home waxing for facial or small areas, this has everything you need to get started. I am giving this as a gift for a college student, and due to the compact size it’s perfect. I have used silicone pots for my own wax needs, and they are great — far better than the aluminum pots; less mess and so easy to pop out the hardened block of wax if you want to try a different scent or type. The volume of the cup which holds the wax seems a bit smaller than the other machines I’ve owned, so I probably wouldn’t get this if you plan to use hard wax for legs or large areas. But for brows and other small areas, it’s perfect. If this is your first time waxing at home: take it slow, maybe watch some YouTube videos for techniques and read up on desirable consistency of melted wax. Hair removal success is primarily technique and quality of the wax. Don’t allow the wax to get so hot that it’s really runny and thin — you’ll risk burning yourself and have less control on spreading & placement.
